Information on how Cotswold Motorhome Hire is combating COVID-19 

All of our motorhomes are thoroughly disinfected before and after each booking as Cotswold Motorhome Hire takes customer and employee safety very seriously. We’d love for you to visit our showroom which is why we have antibacterial hand wash available and social distancing in place. If you would like to know more then please contact us.​

Drivers 

Age

Drivers must be over 25 and under 75 years of age.

Endorsements

 Driver’s license must be free of endorsements except for minor speeding or parking offenses (drivers with more than 6 penalty points may be subject to an insurance loading).

License

Have held a full driving license valid for the relevant vehicle for at least two years prior to the commencement of hire.

Additional drivers

The price covers one named driver; additional drivers may be added at an additional charge of £10 per day, per driver.
​There is a maximum of three drivers.

Insurance

Fully comprehensive insurance for the use in the UK is included within the hire charge. The insurance is only valid for the period of the hire, thus any late return would automatically constitute a traffic offense under the Road Traffic Act.

Invalid insurance means the driver and main hirer become personally liable for any accident damage to the motorhome, third party property and third party personal injuries. Insurance cover is for the vehicle and equipment only. Personal possessions are not covered; hirers are advised to take out holiday insurance. 


A £1,000 damage deposit/Bond is payable at commencement of hire, if the vehicle is returned in good condition, whole and undamaged, with a clean interior, cooker, oven & empty chemical toilet tank and no other excesses to be charged, the deposit will be refunded within 3 days.

Should the condition of the vehicle be otherwise; then repairs, replacements or cleaning costs will be charged against the deposit. If the hirer is found to have damaged the vehicle by negligence (i.e. no other person or vehicle is involved) the hirer will be responsible for full rectification costs which will be charged against the deposit. Front and rear bumpers, over-cab moldings, roof lights, windows, wing mirrors and external doors are typical components prone to damage by negligence. 


Failure to return the vehicle in a clean (particularly the cooker, oven & chemical toilet) condition will incur a £50 valeting charge & a charge of £50 will be made for unemptied chemical toilet tanks.

​Reservations & Collection

​Select a departure date and return date. 

Booking completion 

To complete your booking the following will be required:
  1. A signed rental agreement.
  2. A copy of driver(s) license.
  3. Three proofs of address.
  4. Driver(s) national insurance number. 
  5. £200 deposit per week.
Please note full payment is required 30 Days before the start of the hire period.

Collection & return

You can collect and return your vehicle between 9am to 3pm.

Cancellations

Cancellations prior to 30 days before collection dates will result in loss of the booking deposit (£200 per week). Cancellation of booking within 30 days will result in loss of all money paid to date.  Hirers are advised to obtain their own holiday insurance to safeguard against such eventualities. 

We reserve the right to cancel the booking before commencement of hire if the named driver’s licenses are invalid or do not comply with the requirements in the terms and conditions. In this case you will forfeit the booking deposit and hire charges already paid. 

​Collection and returns

Vehicles are available for collection between 9am to 3pm and must be returned between 9am to 3pm unless otherwise arranged in writing. 
Late returns are charged at £50 p/hour or part hour.

No refunds will be given for an early return of the vehicle.


​The hirer acknowledges delivery of the vehicle clean and the contents free from any defect or damage and complete other than as specified by the company on the inventory/damage declaration form. The customer is advised to check the vehicle thoroughly before leaving the Company’s premises.
​

Upon return the Company's representative will check the vehicle for damage, cleanliness (particularly the cooker, oven & chemical toilet), etc; including the condition of the tires and windscreen which are not included in the Company's insurance cover, any such damage is the hirer's responsibility.

£50 valeting charge & a charge of £50 will be made for unemptied chemical toilet tanks.

​Liabilities

We accept no liability for replacement vehicle costs, travel or accommodation costs or any other consequential loss claims arising from motorhome breakdown; fair wear and tear excepted accident or any other such related causes.

All accidents and any damage (no matter how minor) to either the exterior or interior including TV/DVD etc must be reported immediately by telephone to Shaun Mullis on 01367 810101.
This will enable us to order parts etc so that the vehicle can be repaired upon your return for the next hirer. For motor accidents an accident report form must be completed at the termination of hire.

The hirer shall be liable for all costs and expenses incurred for speeding, parking fines, congestion charges and for any other offenses committed against the Road Traffic Act or traffic regulations.

The hirer shall be responsible for all overhead damage resulting from any incident; overhead damage is defined from ground to in excess of 6 feet from the ground. Damage to windscreen, tires and punctures are the responsibility of the hirer. You are required to check the condition of tires and engine fluid levels on a daily basis.

The hirer is required to keep the motorhome under their control throughout the hire period. It must be 
locked at all times when unattended.

​Breakdown

In the unlikely event of a breakdown the RAC  emergency services are at the disposal of the hirer. The  RAC can be contacted on 03301598714 and quote the registration number. The hirer is authorised to spend up to £100 on repairs, this will be repaid on submission of a valid  receipt.

For repairs costing more than £100 prior approval from Cotswold Motorhome Hire must be obtained.

The Fuel Tank

The fuel tank will be full before departing and the fuel gauge will be noted upon collection and the hirer is responsible for returning the vehicle with the fuel gauge at approximately the same point. 

​Two gas cylinders are supplied with at least one full, subsequent refills are the responsibility of the hirer who should ensure that refilled bottles are the same size and fitting and returned with the vehicle.


​Smoking

You are not permitted to smoke in our vehicles. IT IS AGAINST THE LAW.

​Availability

Whilst we will make every effort to ensure that the reserved motorhome is available, if due to circumstances beyond our control this is not possible and an alternative suitable motorhome is not available our liability is limited to the refunds of all monies paid by you. 

​Agreement

By making a booking and paying a deposit the Customer/Hirer is entering into a contract with Cotswold Motorhome Hire Ltd and agrees to abide by Cotswold Motorhomes terms and conditions.
